Charlie Joe Jackson's Guide to Not Reading

Charlie Joe Jackson's Guide to Not Reading, by Tommy Greenwald

Not everyone can love reading. Not everyone can even like reading. Charlie Joe Jackson, for one, will stake his entire summer on the principle that he should avoid reading at all costs.

This is funny--genuinely funny. We've all tried to avoid some odious task, only to have our schemes backfire. These results were comical enough to make me laugh and pass the book to the person sitting next to me.

Highly recommended to fans of the Diary of a Wimpy Kid franchise, and to reluctant readers who like to laugh at their books (and themselves).

Also try:

Liar, Liar, by Gary Paulsen
Origami Yoda, by Tom Angelberger
